In Memoriam

Good buy my boy
You were born in my hands.
You stayed because of your super social characterJ
And you were a supergood agilitydog!
And beside that my sweet boy, my little Ace, surprisingly stabile in character, and sometimes a fuzzy head.
But how I enjoyed you!
I will never forget you!

Ace, 5 years old

Ace comes from my first own litter. We first didn't plan to keep a puppy, but later changed our minds and decided to keep one male. Already at early age Ace reacted strongly on me and I found him very nice. But then there was a problem as Auke, from the same litter, reacted strongly on André and he reminded André on Sicco. So then we both had different favorites. We couldn't choose, so then both little males stayed. Ace is trained by me. Auke is trained by André and after our divorce Auke went with him.

Ace, 1.5 year old

Ace is a very happy and spontaneous dog and very open to people. He probably has that from his father, as his mother Dasha isn't like that. In other aspects he resembles his mother a lot. Like her Ace has a soft character, although, like her, he doesn't let himself being run over.
Regarding his looks he has a lot of his mother: very elegant, but also very muscular. It appears he has the athletic abilities of his mother as well. He is not a good showdog as he has some (minor) mistakes. His first two shows ended in a Very Good and an Excellent. Nothing more can be expected, so further showing will not be done. Ace is a nervous dog with quite some "noise in his head" and he needs a lot of exercise and challenges. If that is not available, he searches it for them himself and thus is a often bit naughty. But he does that in a funny way, so you can never be angry at him for long.

Ace, 7 month old and tracking super

What are the plans with Ace? So far he is doing well in Obedience training although he needed more time than previous dogs in the beginning. This has to do with the fact that he stayed very young in his head for a long time (and he still is). He likes the training, but plays funny tricks every now and then. When he was 1.5 years old he suddenly showed mroe patience and within 2 month obtained 3 national diploma's (Obediene level 0 and 1 and BH). I'm sure he has the capacity to obtain more nice results, as he is very willing to work.

He has a perfect nose, is already tracking very good and can keep his concentration surprisingly well. He is not a good biter and although he likes to play with the helper, IPO is not his game. He is absolutely not afraid, but simply does not close his jaws. I stopped IPO training for this. With a mother that is not biting at all, this is not surprising.

Ace in 2009

Based on his athletic features Agility really fits him well and indeed he adores the game. If he sees the course, he gets very excited. He is very fast and my problem is how to be in position in time to direct him in the proper direction. He is very focussed on me and can very well be directed, but working on a fairly large distance of me is a problem, then he turns bach to me. But we are making good progress and after some matches he is now making a lot of progress. Already several people recognized his talent! Actually I think this is really the sport that fits him best. In July 2011 we managed to qualify for the second level and in 2013 we qualified for 3rd degree.

Unfortunately Ace can not be used for breeding, as he has the same light form of epilepsy as his mother (who developed this after she had a litter).
